You actually need a electrical supply and a water supply for it to function. Also need to drain out the water after the first tank fill. The water did taste a bit different but i need to check the quality with a meter just incase. The important thing is the service of this unit which would be changing the filters depending on the usage. For my household of 10Ltrs a day, I might have to change the filters every 6 months, would cost me a total of 2500TK only hopefully. I'm satisficed with this product and so is my mum. Cheers.
