This real spider in resin is Cyclocosmia ricketti. It is a species of trapdoor spider of the genus Cyclocosmia. It is native to China and has various common names, such as Money Living-Door Spider, Severed Abdomen Spider, and the Chinese Hourglass Spider.Cyclocosmia ricketti has a very distinctive flat disk, or plate, on its abdomen which some people claim looks like an ancient coin or a seal of some type. Since this Trap Door Spider is not very good at spinning silk, it lives in burrows in the ground which it closes off with it’s abdomenLike all spiders in resin, the size positioning and coloration can vary slightly.
