I Can’t Believe that You’re in Love with Me
$ 45.00
Description Recorded by the fantastic New York Voices on their album “Sing, Sing, Sing,” this Jazz classic found new life. It swings from top to bottom with lots of creative exchanges between sections. This one is straight-ahead fun! Program Notes I have always been fond of this great tune and when I heard the incredible New York Voices recording of it several years ago, I was knocked out by Darmon Meader’s arrangement, and I wanted to give it a go as a big band chart. I did not try to imitate the New York Voices version but wanted to make it accessible to younger players while maintaining the great swinging vibe of the piece. Make sure the ensemble plays with a lot of energy and really locks into the phrasing and the notated articulations. Be on the lookout for some harmonic twists along the way and play the rhythm that first occurs in measure 28 in the Saxes and throughout the chart with forward momentum.
